Dear IEA Wind TCP colleagues
This year has been a difficult one, as you know we have lost many people in this pandemic which has also created very challenging conditions to work, collaborate and socialize.
I would like to remember Pat, who was IEA Wind Secretary for many years, she passed away recently. Pat was the heart of our activities, always supportive and inspiring. We will remember her.
But despite the difficulties, we have continued our work in IEA Wind, with excellent Task achievements including publications in top scientific journals, impactful recommended practices, tools for industry, lots of webinars and online meetings. We have had two successful ExCo meetings with record level of participants and we are on track to get new participants in our ExCo. New Tasks are starting in strategic areas for wind energy and we have enjoyed a great collaboration with IEA Secretariat in Paris.
The prospect for 2021 is good, wind energy is at the core of the energy transition and more applications for wind energy create new opportunities for our technology. We know there are challenges ahead as well, but we also know that we can provide answers and make wind energy be the solution for many of the future energy needs.
From the IEA Wind TCP Secretariat we wish you Merry Christmas and a windy and healthy 2021.
The Secretariat team.
